In my first post on R&R’s The Missional Leader, I defined leadership as “cultivating or creating an environment in which spiritual movements can bud and develop.” Leadership is about cultivating a “space.”
Building on R&R’s thoughts of “Green Zone” leadership, I’ve been wondering if we can think of missional leaders as those who plant churches or launch spiritual movements by cultivating these “spaces or environments.”
Leaders Cultivate an Environment of:
Missional Causes–shared convictions of an emerging community’s “sentness”
Missional People–people becoming increasingly like Jesus
Missional Communities–communities caring for one another and their world
Missional Connections–creative connections with surrounding communities of need
